A haiku is a Japanese form of poetry often written about nature. Modern haiku can be about pretty much anything. It is a simple, to the point type of poem that is intended to catch the reader's attention, and give them something to ponder. The most common structure is 3 lines with 5 syllables in the first line, 7 syllables in the second line, and 5 syllables in the last line. You can also add more than one stanza to make it a longer poem.
I love using haiku as way of making a simple point about what God is teaching me. It helps me to summarize what I am learning, and helps me to put it into practice.
